Patricia “Patt” J. Downes, 78, of Petersburg, MI, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, March 27, 2017, in her home. Born July 8, 1938, in Toledo, OH, she was the daughter of Charles and Bessie Ruthie Mae (Bowers) Wilson. A 1956 graduate of Woodward High School, she then married Everette “Gordon” Downes on December 3, 1960. Patt was an active member of Northwest Baptist Church in Toledo for the past 20 years. She was an amazing cook and also enjoyed bowling, reading, gardening, ceramics, but most of all, spending time with her family. Every man should have a wife and mom like Patt.
Patt is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Gordon; children, Gordon R. Downes, Carolyn (Rich) Granata and Andrea (Joe) Walling; sister, Carolyn Baker; brother, Charles (Judy) Wilson; 5 perfect granddaughters, Jaimie, Amber, Natasha, Rylee and Baylee Jo. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be from 3-8 pm, Friday, March 31, 2017, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, April 1, 2017, at Northwest Baptist Church, 3906 W. Alexis Rd., Toledo, OH 43623, where she will lie in state after 10:00 am.
